Now the plant which had died was revived. My other son had placed the flower pot where it was shaded somewhat from the heat of the sun and where I would see it when I came out side. There is lot of bright green foliage growing in the flower pot but the pretty red blossom especially stands out. It reminds me of the words in the Scripture which say, " And you who were dead in trespasses and sins, has He quickened (make alive). The red reminds me of Jesus blood which was shed so that we could have new life. I t also reminds me that we must never become discouraged and give up when we it looks like all hope is dying. Hope in God for I shall yet

The little red blossom
I am utterly amazed at the many way God through His creation llustrates to us the truth of His gospel. Several days ago just as I was going into the house from my worship my time I glanced to the left of the ramp and noticed a bright red blossom...What was so unusual about that red blossom? My son and his family had given me a beautiful arrangement of flowers in a flower pot suitable to be outside. I had enjoyed the flowers when I went outside everyday....Then one weekend my husband and I were visiting away from home....the sun became hotter and the flowers became drier from lack of water. Some of them had already died. I watered the remaining flowers and hoped for the best....eventually they all dried up. I felt bad and put the flower pot in back of the house out of view.

Are they geraniums? They sound pretty. Tony is a good gardener. So glad he revived your flowers for you so you can enjoy them again. The red blossom reminded you of Jesus' blood which He shed so we could have new life, like the green foliage. This reminds me of the wordless book song (should be called the color-book song, as well :) "My heart was black with sin, until the Savior came in. His precious blood I know has made me white as snow. And in His word I'm told I'll walk the streets of gold. To grow in Christ each day I'll read my Bible and pray."
ReplyDeleteThe blossom is smaller than a geranium blossom but similar. I'm glad you remember the little wordless book. Love you much, Mom
